The surroundings
Claviers is situated high up as a Provencal village, bathed in the sun under an azure sky. The picturesque village with Mediterranean climate is an ideal base to discover the Côte d’Azur.
CLAVIERS
Known for its steep alleys, covered passages and stone porches, the ancient village has retained the slowness of Provence. Discover the beautiful medieval church square with old plane trees, the olive trees in and around the village, the narrow streets and hidden squares, … a hidden gem where time has stood still.
The 17th century coat of arms of Claviers, azure blue with two golden keys, takes on a new meaning at Le Gabriel: double welcome at the gate of our B&B.
The Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters makes Claviers the ideal base to discover the Côte d’Azur, but also the famous Gorges du Verdon (the ‘Grand Canyon’ of Europe) or the surrounding villages such as Bargemon or Fayence, which keep beautiful vistas from the hilltops.
Nice Airport is 55 minutes from Claviers and the nearest TGV station is just 25 minutes away.
THE CÔTE D’AZUR
Due to the central location of Claviers, the choice of excursions and activities is almost unlimited.
From Claviers there really is something for everyone: Of course there is the Côte d’Azur, with Saint Raphaël, Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Tropez and so many other pearls within a 50-minute drive: strolling on the dike, restaurants ‘pied dans l’eau’, sandy beaches and beautiful walks along L’Estérel: the choice is yours.
Prefer the liveliness of a city? Cannes and Nice are an hour’s drive away.
PEACE AND NATURE
Due to its central and quiet location in the Var, you can also enjoy wonderful peace and nature from Le Gabriel, away from the well-known tourist paths. Infinite walking and cycling paths cross this region, you can enjoy the beaches of le Lac Saint-Cassien or Le Lac Sainte-Croix, discover the Gorges du Verdon or simply discover the small Provencal villages nearby, with the daily markets and bistros in the medieval squares.
